DalterFood Group, ambassador of dairy excellence in the world

With over 45 years of experience, DalterFood Group is today one of the leading players in the dairy sector. As an ambassador of Italian food excellence, it produces different types of Parmigiano Reggiano – classic, Mountain Products, Organic and Only from Italian Pezzata Rossa cows – as well as selecting and supplying a wide range of the best Italian PDO and nonPDO matured, semi-matured and fresh cheeses.

The production of Parmigiano Reggiano, the best loved and most recognised PDO, is direct and entrusted to its two mountain dairies – Colline di Selvapiana e Canossa and Colline del Cigarello e Canossa, located in the Reggio Emilia Apennines – and is the result of a controlled, integrated and sustainable supply chain, a unique and virtuous example in the industry, which begins with the supply of milk, conferred by 40 local farms.

There are 200 cheeses processed every day with different maturation periods: from 12 months to over 40 months. This care permeates the entire process and has enabled the Group to obtain the Animal Welfare certification, issued by Certiquality according to the protocol of ClassyFarm, the Italian reference authority for Animal Welfare.

Alongside the daily work to offer the highest quality products and the great attention dedicated to the sourcing of all raw materials, through the definition of strict protocols and procedures, is the commitment to sustainability, economic, environmental and social.

This is well illustrated in the second Sustainability Report, drawn up according to GRI standards, where important goals are highlighted, including a substantial reduction in the use of plastic (-31% from 2021), investments in renewable energies and projects for the growth of the internal community and in favour of the territory.

Excellence that continues in the portioning and packaging facilities and that allows the group to offer a wide range of cuts and packages, including customised ones, in step with the latest technologies and capable of satisfying all the needs of its customers, industries, restaurants and retailers.
