Sergio Dussin is a well-known restaurateur from Bassano, with years of experience in the catering sector. His passion began in 1972, at the Dalla Mena restaurant, where he started working as a waiter.
Shortly after, he moved on to the role of assistant chef, until he took over the restaurant in 1986, for two years. In 1988 he opened Al Pioppeto; in 1994 he bought a villa and turned it into a restaurant; in 2004 he took over the management of Dalla Mena again.
Al Pioppeto is a restaurant located in Romano d’Ezzelino. It can accommodate a large number of guests and guarantees the perfect atmosphere for a number of different events, such as weddings, ceremonies and birthdays. The menu is traditional Venetian and is prepared using mostly fresh, local ingredients.
Albergo Ristorante Dalla Mena, in Romano d’Ezzelino, is the most complete of the three activities. In addition to the restaurant and hotel, it also has a bar service. Its strong point is the valley, a suggestive place to plunge into nature. Its “homemade” cuisine and its location out of the city bustle are highly appreciated by its customers.
Villa Razzolini Loredan, located in Asolo, is a restaurant with a special location. Purchased in 1994 as an abandoned building, Sergio has brought it back to life, and now it is part of the Venetian Villas. The menu is based on the local culinary tradition, with a twist on the presentation.
In addition to these three locations, the Dussin Group is also known for its catering service. This satisfies many needs with catering services at home or in prestigious villas of the area, such as Villa Ca’ Erizzo and Villa Giusti Del Giardino, as well as in other well-known locations, such as Distilleria Poli, Palazzo Bonaguro and Palazzo Sturm.
Thanks to Sergio’s organisational skills, the team has played a leading role in the events of Bassano da Sogno and Dinner on the Bridge of Bassano, as well as Vinitaly and Fiera Cavalli. Since 2003 Dussin has also landed in the Vatican. In particular, he has repeatedly served the Pontifical Academy of Sciences and Caritas International at their conferences. Sergio also catered for the first lunch offered by Pope Francis to the poor on 19 November 2017, as well as for the event with the Queen of Sweden and various heads of state and government.
