A HISTORICAL HERITAGE OF THE FARMING WORLD

OUR HISTORY

Few other wineries may claim such a strict connection with the surrounding territory as the Vallebelbo winery. This AgriculturalCooperative, founded in 1956, collects and vinifies the grapes produced by the 160 associated growers, who own about 500 hectares of beautiful vineyards located in the heart of the Langhe hills surrounding Santo Stefano Belbo, recently named as a UNESCO World Heritage site. This wine-growing area is the most important center for the production of Moscato Bianco grapes, which give birth to 3 sweet and aromatic wines, famous all over the world for their uniqueness: Asti DOCG, Moscato d’Asti DOCG and the new born Asti Secco DOCG, all the with Controlled and Guaranteed Denomination of Origin. Everything starts with the utmost respect to territory, nature, biodiversity, environment and ecosystem, and then continues with the constant and continuous search for the highest possible quality. Starting from the strictly selected fruit, the subsequent production steps focus precisely on the exaltation of the same fruit, enhancing all the most characteristic nuances and the most peculiar features. The core of every activity are the innovative cellars, an extremely functional structure equipped with the most modern and state of the art oenological technologies.

OUR VALUES

We are aware that quality is not only the result of technology application, but above all is the transformation of an excellent raw material, the grapes. Therefore, Vallebelbo has equipped all the grower partners with qualified agronomic assistance, in order to keep control of the cultivation of vineyards, too. The goal is to guarantee the correct management of the vines, aimed, on the one hand, to have better and better grapes and on the other hand, to reduce the costs of cultivation and the use of anticryptogamic treatments. The peasant tradition has merged harmoniously with technology, and artisanship and the passionate pursuit of excellence are managed with commitment and entrepreneurial mentality. This is why Vallebelbo is a company capable of telling the truest peasant soul. Excellent bunches come to the cellar, to be processed exclusively following the strictest rules; the wines that have been generated for years are synonymous of one of the most authentic expressions of Piedmont.

OUR HILLS

“The skillful processing and continuous improvement of the techniques of cultivation of the Nebbiolo, Moscato and Barbera vines have led to extraordinary results that appear in the splendor of a unique landscape in the world. The constant and passionate dedication of people who have been cultivating vineyards for generations following traditions and farming knowledge have created a territory of exceptional universal value”. These are the reasons that have led UNESCO to name our hills as a World Heritage Site. In fact, when you think of the Langhe, Roero and Monferrato, sweet hills covered with vineyards come to mind, small villages surrounded by fields, churches and medieval castles, aromas of wine, truffles; a feeling of tranquility mixed with beauty, a microcosm of different environments where man and nature have been going on hand in hand for centuries.

Excellence is nourished by authentic values, cultivated with love, generation after generation. The continuous search for quality and attention to detail during the entire production process have made Vallebelbo a company that does not forget and never neglects its origins. This is how experience is renewed every day in the wake of tradition.
