Solopaca DOP: passion for three generations

The Vinicola del Titerno, ethical simplicity and territoriality since 1982

It was the pure passion for wine of Grandfather Angelo that gave life to La Vinicola del Titerno, in 1982, in the heart of Sannio in Massa di Faicchio. His sons, Alfredo and Talio, recently joined by the third generation, the grandchildren Giovanni , Alessio and Davide, now run the winery.

From the beginning, the company has focused on the “Solopaca”, so much so that currently, of the 2.5 million bottles produced, almost half account for this characteristic wine, which is present on the national market in most of the large-scale distribution.

The company also aims to be play its role on foreign markets: Canada, the Usa, England, Germany, Singapore and above all China, are the main destinations for this Sannio wine in the world. “Our vineyards explains Alessio Di Leone, who takes care of the production as a wine-maker are characterized by rigorously native vines which express the intrinsic qualities of our terroirs.

Since 2007 we have moved to the new headquarters and structured the company with technologically advanced machinery. But we didn’t stop he adds Infact, during this period we have installed a latest generation automatic bottling plant 4.0”.

The company is also very attentive to energy saving, so much so that about 65% of the energy used for processing the grapes up to bottling, derives from a photovoltaic system.

“For 2021 Giovanni updates we aim to become a 100% green company”. “Fads pass but our bottle is easily recognizable underlines Alfredo Di Leone. A particularity that we always spot when we display it during trade fairs”.

Since 2008, moreover, La Vinicola del Titerno winks also at the niche market, with the selection of “Linea V” wines, produced with particular attention from grapes coming exclusively from vineyards owned by the Di Leone family.

Another highlight will be a 2015 pure Aglianico aged for 5 years in casks and which will be available in the coming months. It will be called “Talio” as a tribute to one of the two brothers.

This is a steady family-owned company, hiring local labour, and this allows the maximum balance between high quality and competitive price. Simplicity, ethics and territoriality are three intrinsic elements of this wine-growing business.
