Acquainbrick is an innovative startup that sells boxed spring water, launched in 2019 in Modena by five founders, four Italian entrepreneurs plus the Iberian LY Company, the first world’s company in this field. With the aim of promoting a change in the way of drinking water and becoming the Italian leading company for on-the-go carton water, Acquainbrick is a pioneering project which introduces a totally recyclable packaging with a customizable design, made up of over 70% plant-based and renewable raw materials.
Compared to plastic, the cardboard container protects better from external alterations, acting as a barrier against heat and light: for this reason the water is of excellent quality, due also to the three-phase purification system and the aseptic bottling. Free from impurities and very light, the water is even safe for consumption in paediatric age.
Considering any other food and beverage packages, recycling cardboard is easier and less impacting on the natural ecosystem. In addition, Tetra Pak only supplies FSC® paper certifying a responsible forest management. At the same time, customizing the packaging becomes a marketing strategy that attracts different private label brands, from food services to hotel industry, from fairs to leisure events.
And with almost 1 million products spread out in the first quarter of 2021, the carbon footprint of the company and its partners is estimated at 10,700 kg of fossil plastic less than a bottle made of 15 grams of fossil resources.
Acquainbrick also helps multiple humanitarian organizations, including the NGO Pozos Sin Fronteras to which it donates part of the profits. It’s no coincidence that the company obtained the B Corp® certification, formalizing the mission to produce social and environmental benefits for employees, communities, stakeholders and for the Earth.
The time is now ripe to inaugurate in July 2021 the new factory close by the water source in Marradi, Tuscany, and to enter large-scale distribution.
