GAGLIANO MARCATI A CENTENARY COMPANY

This is the undisputed heritage of MARCATI, a family company now in its fourth generation, Marcati has been part of the history of Italy and Europe throughout the last 100 years, going through two wars, the economic crisis of 1929 and the economic boom of the 1960s.

It all began in Veronella, a small town in the province of Verona, in 1919 thanks to two brothers, Pietro and Luigi Marcati in their pharmacy. In 1929, Pietro opened his first industrial headquarters in Verona (damaged by a bombing in 1944 during World War II). Its reconstruction, in 1946, allowed Pietro and, a few years later, his son Giuseppe, to resume the marketing of the products in Northern Italy.

From 1978, the third generation, formed by Pietro, Andrea and Maria Paola, completed a series of important acquisitions, and production was progressively renewed by including a vast assortment of Grappas and typical liqueurs. This strengthened the company’s presence in the European markets, in particular in Northern Europe, to which it gradually added those of the rest of the world.

Today MARCATI, ERCOLE GAGLIANO, MORANDINI branded liqueurs and spirits are exported to more than 40 countries and the company achieves 35% of its turnover abroad, with a production of 5 million bottles (2021).

Having come through the difficult years of the pandemic and the consequent crisis in consumption in the catering world, the company, despite the difficult historical moment that saw extreme increases in the cost of raw materials, is opening up new markets in emerging countries that bode well for the near future.

BACIO DELLE MUSE RISERVA Grappa

is today the most representative spirit of the wide range produced in the Sona plant, but we certainly cannot forget liqueurs such as Limoncello Della Limonaia or Tiramisù, which are an expression of the high production standards in response to the increasingly demanding and selective international market.
