Veneto is a region located in the North East of Italy and is one of the most famous and productive wine zones in the country. It is well known for some of its star wines like Amarone, Soave, Valpolicella and Bardolino. This Masterclass will take you through the tradition and culture of Veneto’s fine wines and food. Veneto’s growers are amongst the most modernised in Italy. Whilst most of the ‘classic’ wines from this area are based on native grape varieties like Glera (formerly known as Prosecco), Verduzzo, Garganega, Corvina, Corvinone, Rondinella and Molinara, high demand for Veneto wines in the European and US markets has galvanized the region’s producers into experimentation with Cabernet, Chardonnay and Pinot varieties, amongst others. Here is the list of wine for tasting:
- Prosecco Frizzante di Valdobbiadene, Balan – NV
- Prosecco Col Fondo, Zanotto – NV
- Le Bine di Costiola, Soave classico Superiore, Tamellini – 2009
- Bardolino Classico, Raval – 2011
- Valpolicella Ripasso, Corte Abelardi – 2008
- Villa Annaberta, Amarone della Valpolicella, Terre di Verona – 2009
