IGP CHOCOLATE FROM MODICA IS FOR EVERYONE!

That is the philosophy adopted by Antica Dolceria Rizza, the company from Modica known for producing famous chocolate since 1935. Besides being a delicious and healthy foodstuff, chocolate is now an iconic component of the area too.

The Rizza family always imagined creating chocolate that was as historical and traditional as it was innovative to the tastebuds, and proposed the production of many unique varieties and flavors. .

The contemporary approach is seen in production, with both quality and food safety guaranteed and certified under BRC, IFS, and Rainforest Alliance standards, but also in handling and distribution processes. At the end of the twentieth century, the venerated chocolate company turned to its customers, and discarded the idea that a delicious product like Modica chocolate, rich in sensorial and nutritional qualities, and free of allergens like gluten and lactose, should be a privilege reserved for only a few.

“For centuries, cocoa beans and sugar created a simple but satisfying product that was noble in origin, but little known because it was knowingly set aside to be consumed only by the elite class. Until, one day we said no, this chocolate should be for everyone! I think we were driven by obstinacy.” – says Giuseppe Rizza, CEO of Antica Dolceria Rizza.

“The zeal and devotion we feel for our work has driven us forward creatively. We have developed new flavors, blends and even shapes. This helps our chocolate stand out from the crowds. Today with PepiteModica we can propose an alternative to chocolate bars for large leavened products, baked desserts, yogurt and ice cream. This unique substitute can enrich and customize recipes, in many fields of application.” >>.

IGP Geographic Protection further endorses the quality of our product. The IGP label arrived only a few years ago, and this is a further validation and guarantee extended to everyone, including consumers and producers.

<< Rizza adds, “Our intuition for some time was that we should pitch our products to the big names known in large-scale distribution and HORECA so they could be accessible to everyone. Therefore, every day, our products npw challenge the common chocolate market. We bought a product that was widely considered “an outsider” to the public eye, highlighting what makes chocolate special: that being an appreciation for taste and quality and simple but efficient production. Our blends have little human intervention and are prepared at low temperatures, not manipulated and not toned down, just simply made using quality ingredients and authentic means.” >>

Happy chocolate everyone!
