LAVAZZA’S FOOD SERVICE PLAYS A LEADING ROLE AT GULFOOD 2016 Conveying Lavazza’s expertise and leadership in the Ho.Re.Ca. sector to visitors is the starting point from which the Italy-based company is developing its presence at Gulfood 2016 (21 – 25 February, Dubai World Trade Center), one of the world’s most important trade fairs in the hospitality sector. Established in Turin in 1895, Lavazza has been owned by the family of the same name for four generations. The world’s seventh ranking coffee roaster, Lavazza operates in over 90 countries through subsidiaries and distributors and exports about 50% of its production. Lavazza invented the concept of blending – or in other words the art of combining different types of coffee from different geographical areas – in its early years and this continues to be a distinctive feature of all its products. The product range that Lavazza will show at the fair revolves around its new Food Service products for 2016: ¡Tierra! Origins, the new premium Lavazza coffee blends with an intense taste and made with 100% sustainable coffee from Rainforest Alliance certified farms, combining the excellence of the product with environmental and social sustainability. These blends are a concrete example of Lavazza’s commitment to sustainability and its painstaking search for the best coffee selections. For over 120 years, Lavazza has been committed to produce unique coffee blends thanks to its Master Blenders, who every year select more than 100 diff erent varieties from different origins, creating a product characterised by the most prized and refined aromas, so as to guarantee the best in-cup result. It is thanks to this excellent art of coffee blending that today the Lavazza ¡Tierra! range for the industry professionals has a new integrated, original offering of outstanding quality: Espresso Brasile 100% Arabica, with dominant notes of caramel and nuts; Espresso Brasile Blend (70% Arabica, 30% prized washed Robusta) with hints of chocolate, dried fruit and bitter cocoa; Filtro Tanzania 100% Arabica, with aromas of flowers and ripe fruits; Filtro Brasile 100% Arabica, with tangs of cereals and honey.
