The company is located in the heart of the Appennino Piacentino in Castell’Arquato, a medieval town rich in history and traditions. Here the Founders have created a business enterprise in the slaughtering, processing and curing of pork. The Salumificio has a first phase of expansion in 1978 that will take him to triple its production. In the second half of the eighties the sons of members come in the Company and they create a new propulsive action, thanks to which they will make a second restructuring of the plant in 1995 with specialization in meat processing and production of salumi. This allows at the company to achieve its most prestigious goals. In 1997 he received its CE mark and the subsequent license to export, a few months later the quality certificate ISO 9002 and shortly after the prestigious European DOP (Protected Designation of Origin) for coppa, salame e pancetta piacentini. In recent years Salumificio La Rocca has faced new stimulating challenges: the generational change; the expansion of seasoning cells with three new pavilions. In addition, the Company in 2009 replaced the old cover with a new one equipped with photovoltaic panels. Today the weekly production capacity is about 130 tons of sausages and 3000-3500 whole pieces (coppe, fiocchi, culatelli, pancette). The target market is mainly northern Italy, in addition to the new foreign market, characterized by small top-quality importers (especially in Britain, France, Austria and Germany).

Production

Salumificio La Rocca is in the hills Piacentine. For over 50 years working and matures the meat of pigs, only raised and slaughtered in the Pianura Padana and turns them into salumi of regional tradition. In addition to the shop you can buy three renowned salumi D.O.P. : Coppa Regina, Salame Principe e Pancetta Castellana; also the fabulous Fiocchetti, the salame Gentile, the Mandolino or Culatello with cotenna, the Mariolina, the Cacciatori and the Strolghino. In addition to the counter of the store, are present throughout the year, the various cuts of fresh pork meat, as well as a selection of tasty culinary preparations of our Chef “Giancracco”, ready to be cooked. Do not forget about the famous wines of the Colli Piacentini, the cheeses of our valleys, honey, oil of our olive groves and many other delicacies. Inside the shop there is a zone for tasting where you can taste the various products. On Saturday and Sunday mornings, by appointment and for groups, you can organize a free guided tour within the departments, and for those who want to prepare them tastings complete with meats and wines.
