In 1397, Gian Galeazzo Visconti<\/strong>, Lord of Milan, in a letter addressed to the Podest\u00e0 of Voghera<\/strong>, ordered \u2018\u2019uno zebro grande de mostarda de fructa cum la sanavra\u201d for Christmas. This is one of the earliest references to fruit mustard. Sanavra in Cremonese<\/strong> dialect is the name for mustard and, by extension, Sanavra<\/a><\/strong> is the name given to that tingling sensation that \u2018clears the nostrils and brings tears to the eyes\u2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

SANAVRA Mostarda<\/strong> is a typical Cremonese speciality, consisting of a varied assortment of fruit and vegetables candied in mustard glucose syrup. It is ideal with boiled meats, fresh and mature cheeses, cold cuts and fish.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition to the classic Cremonese mostarda with assorted fruits (8 fruits), we offer our customers single fruit varieties (apricots, cherries, citron, clementines, figs, peaches, melon, pears, apples).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But we have many other types of mostarda: assorted vegetables (courgettes, carrots, cucumbers, cauliflower, fennel, pumpkin), or single vegetables: onions, radicchio, black cabbage, but also with berries: chestnut mostarda, strawberry mostarda, blueberry mostarda, wild berry mostarda, or specialities: pear and ginger mostarda, orange or lemon peel mostarda, and other flavours.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
