Prestofresco was founded in 2004 in Northwest Italy by the Sapino family. The company’s roots date back to the 1980s, when the business started out managing butcher shops and meat processing. From that period, the company inherited a corporate culture strongly focused on the quality of fresh products and direct customer relations.
Today, Prestofresco has over 100 grocery stores, with medium-sized supermarkets (between 400 and 1,000 square meters) designed to offer quick and affordable daily shopping without compromising on quality, service, and attention to the local area.

As part of the growth and consolidation of its network, the brand has recently entered a partnership with Il Gigante. The agreement represents a strategic step that will allow Prestofresco to further strengthen its competitiveness in the local grocery market by expanding and improving the range of products available in its stores.
“We share a vision based on practicality, customer focus, and promoting local excellence,” says Sebastiano Sapino, CEO of Prestofresco. “This collaboration allows us to strengthen our network and offer customers an even more complete range of products, while maintaining the values of proximity, service, and relationship that characterize our stores.”

The partnership is developed with full respect for the commercial autonomy of the two brands, which maintain their distinct identities and positioning, operating in a logic of complementarity between different distribution formats.
At the same time, Prestofresco continues its growth in the area: since the beginning of the year, two new stores have already been opened, with more openings planned in the coming months. This development strategy aims to further consolidate the brand’s presence in the Northwest.
